More flights to and from Varna Airport 2024
From Varnaairport where will we be travelling to after 1 April?
Varna Airport will serve more than 60 destinations in the 2024 summer season.
On the first day of April, almost immediately after Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area by air, national carrier Bulgaria Air will increase the frequency of flights from Sofia to Varna: 3 flights per day on weekdays and 2 flights per day on Saturdays and Sundays.
It will be on Aviation Day, 12 April, that the first summer tourists will land at Varna Airport, as it is at this time that the French airline Transavia will launch direct scheduled flights from Paris (Orly Airport), which will operate every Friday until the end of September. This is an important event in the summer schedule of our seaside airport, as the last time the airline operated a charter flight between Paris and Varna was in 2017.
Following the successful launch of the Nantes - Varna route last summer season, budget airline Volotea will operate the route this year, alongside the existing Lille - Varna route. Flights will resume on 23 April.
Turkish Airlines has been increasing the frequency of flights from Istanbul to Varna since April. During the winter period they were daily, but in summer they will operate 11 flights per week.
From the beginning of April Austrian Airlines will also operate flights connecting Varna with Vienna - 6 times a week, and from mid-April the flights will become daily.
From 1 June, Air Serbia will resume direct flights from Belgrade to Varna, 4 times a week, which will make it possible to reach many other destinations to which the airline operates regular flights in Europe, the USA, the Russian Federation and China.
The possibilities of travelling around the world with convenient connections via major airports are not exhausted. A new route opens from Germany: on 3 May Discover Airlines opens flights from Munich to Varna with the frequency of 2 flights per week. And this is not the only flight to Germany.
At the end of April, for the third consecutive summer, the airline will also operate scheduled flights from Frankfurt to Varna, 3 times a week, giving passengers even more options for connecting flights to various destinations around the world, in addition to direct flights to two German cities within the Lufthansa group. Low-cost airline Ryanair has already resumed flights from Vienna to Varna in mid-March, and from the beginning of June it will also resume flights from Katowice and Krakow (Poland), as well as Vilnius (Lithuania). Another low-cost carrier, Wizz Air, will continue to operate flights to Berlin, Dortmund, Hamburg, Memmingen (Germany), London Luton (UK), Charleroi (Belgium) and Eindhoven (Netherlands).
The charter programme to and from Varna Airport also offers many options.
In April and May charter programmes to such attractive destinations as Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Spain and Italy are available for residents of Varna and the region.
The first charters from Germany will start in mid-May, and this year charter flights from Varna will be operated by two new airlines. Fly Lili and TUI Germany.
Charter flights from Poland and Scandinavia will also start in the second half of May, and from the Czech Republic in early June.
