Varna Airport starts the Summer Season 2023 with a rich variety of destinations.

After the record number of 18 routes in Winter 2022/2023, Varna Airport, part of "Fraport Twin Star Airport Management" JSC, opens the Summer Season 2023 with expectations for traffic growth compared to last year and a rich variety of attractive destinations. All 16 routes that Wizz Air operated in the winter will continue to be served in the summer season as well!
Of these 8 are German: Baden Baden, Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Frankfurt Hahn, Hamburg, Memmingen, Nuremberg, and the rest include: Vienna (Austria), London Luton and Liverpool (UK), Prague (Czech Republic), Larnaca (Cyprus) , Charleroi (Belgium), Eindhoven (Netherlands) and Tel Aviv (Israel).

From May 1, the national air carrier Bulgaria Air is increasing the frequency of its flights from Sofia to Varna, and on weekdays it will operate 3 flights a day, and on Saturdays and Sundays it will operate 2 flights a day, the airport press center reports. Ryanair will continue to operate flights from Vienna to Varna during the summer season without interruption, and on March 26, the low-cost airline resumes its flights from Sofia to Varna twice a week.

In addition, this season the airline is adding 3 new routes to Varna - Vilnius (Lithuania) and Katowice (Poland) starting at the beginning of June, as well as Krakow (Poland) from the beginning of July, and for the first time this season there will be regular flights on this route! From March 27, Turkish Airlines is increasing the frequencies on the Istanbul-Varna route, from 5 flights per week to 9 flights per week.
From the same date, Austrian Airlines will operate flights connecting Varna with Vienna 6 times a week, and from April 10, the flights will be operated daily. The low-cost airline easyJet also resumes flights from Berlin to Varna on March 30, and during the summer season it will also operate regular flights from London Gatwick to Varna. Another low-cost airline, Volotea, is adding another French route to the one it opened last year from the city of Lille, this time it will also operate flights from the city of Nantes.

Eurowings Discover will once again operate flights on the route Frankfurt - Varna from the end of April, which will give passengers at Varna Airport another opportunity to make connections with other destinations to which Lufthansa group airlines have flights. On the 5th of June, Air Serbia launched direct flights from Belgrade to Varna, 4 times a week, and in this way will enable connections with many other destinations to which the airline operates regular flights in Europe, America and Russia.
The Serbian national carrier last operated these flights in 2016. And this year, Varna Airport will have new routes and new airlines - for the first time, Azur Air Ukraine will fly to Varna from 2 Polish cities - Warsaw and Katowice. Another new airline, Arkia, will operate flights from Tel Aviv. In 2023, flights will also be operated from the new Radom Airport in Warsaw, in addition to the main airport of the Polish capital.

For the first time this summer we will have a combined route of charter flights from Karlovy Vary and Pardubice, Czech Republic. In this summer season, several routes restart from the Scandinavian countries - Bergen (Norway), Helsinki (Finland) and Aalborg (Denmark). The first charters from Germany start in the first half of May.
