Varna Day - August 15

Varna celebrates on August 15, when the Orthodox Church celebrates the Holy Dormition of the Virgin. The day was selected as a city holiday with a decision of the local parliament since 1993. For the first time August 15, it was declared a holiday in 2007 and since then the tradition has not been interrupted.

The Varna Municipality has arranged a comprehensive three-day program for the holiday, which falls on Friday this year. The world-famous DJ Bobo will be the main attraction at the joyous performance on August 15.

There will be a plethora of cultural events and music with more than 50 Varna artists of various types and genres. The large-scale holiday concert on Varna Day has already been constructed. It is situated in the area surrounding the Pantheon in the Sea Garden, and the last tasks to install the lights and test the multimedia and sound systems are presently in progress. For better visibility of the audience, two large side screens will also be placed, which will pass on everything that happens on stage. The big holiday concert begins on the holiday - August 15, from 8:30 pm and will continue until 01:30 after midnight. The music show will feature the world-renowned DJ Bobo, who will perform some of his biggest hits, including Somebody Dance with Me, Keep on Dancing, Love Is All Around, Let The Dream Come True, Pray, Every, Shadom, Shadom Yourself, IT's My Life, There is a Party and many more. The popular DJ will take the stage around 11:00 pm, immediately after a short festive dawn. He will present an impressive show of an hour and a half, filled with choreography, light effects and multimedia visualizations.

In addition to DJ Bobo, DJ Fabrizio Parisi & Timas, Dara and Gery-Nikol will also come on the stage. The presenter and performer of the evening will be Venzy. The program will be complemented by a spectacular laser-multimedia show, and at 11:00 pm the sky over Varna will be illuminated by a three-minute holiday dawn.

The next day - August 16, the concert "Voice of Varna" will be held on the same stage with the participation of young musicians, including Atanas Kolev, Boro First, Tino, Atanas Kateliev, Vick, Simona Stateva, Victoria Blagoeva, Galina & Raye, Center and word. All concerts are free for the residents and guests of the city. This year, the festive program, organized by Varna Municipality, lasts three days - until August 17 inclusive. It includes folklore and classical concerts, sports events, festivals, exhibitions and numerous cultural events in the open.
